Good Current Comcast DealsGuide Started By FilterJ... on October 2013 Last Updated on February 2015 | 2 Contributions | Comments
To get a special deal, you need to call Comcast and ask questions. It helps a lot if you already know what deals exist, because they don't readily volunteer the information. Sometimes you can get the best deals through regular sales reps, but sometimes they won't give them to you unless you get transferred to the loyalty department. Sometimes they really don't have a good deal for your needs at the moment but the deals change so frequently that you can often find a great deal by calling back a few weeks later.
My personal desire has been to keep my total bill below $65/month. I want my Internet to be as fast as possible for that price and I want public TV channels (limited basic). Our family would really prefer to have access to Comcast Sports Network channels to watch baseball but that typically requires paying at best 79.99/month (plus fees and taxes) and often more often 99.99/month. So we usually live without these channels though we may switch to a plan including these channels for 1 or 2 months per year towards the end of baseball season.
Always ask if a certain deal requires a contract. If it does, it will generally be a two year contract, where you get the deal price for the first 12 months (plus fees and taxes) and a price $20 higher for months 13 through 24. This is not as bad as it sounds because breaking the contract is not particularly expensive. Furthermore, if you upgrade to a plan with at least one additional service then you can break your contract with no cost (but activation fees for the new service may apply). For example, if you have a 2 year contract with Internet and limited basic TV, you can switch to the least expensive triple play at some point and Comcast will let you out of your contract. Then - you can decide to switch to a less expensive plan a few days or few weeks later. Even if the new triple play package has a contract, you have a 30 day money back guarantee.
